A collaborative space powered by C5ISR where industry, academia and government con join forces to create transformative capabilities
OUR MISSION
Bring the best technology available to the Warfighter as quickly as possible by providing an open environment where industry, academia, and Government can engage in innovation, development, and rapid prototyping of emerging technologies
Continuous Improvement
Seek out and accelerate development of the best solutions to continuously optimize the Army’s capabilities.
Transformative Thinking
Using agile and adaptive acquisition processes and a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) for system architectures, The OIL aims to layer “plug-and-play” solutions continuously as new technologies emerge.
A Collaborative Space
We are depending on YOU to show us your best compatible technologies and ideas!
Open Innovation Lab (OIL) Transition to C5ISR
The OIL is hosted in the C5ISR Center Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) as of the start of FY25
Additional capabilities available such as MIL-STD-810 test and tactical vehicle integration
Continued industry access to CMOSS infrastructure to include cards, chassis and software
New proving abilities further characterize performance and technology maturity of industry products
CMOSS
The C5ISR/Electronic Warfare Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) is a modular open systems architecture (MOSA) that converges select Army warfighting capabilities — such as mission command, movement and maneuver, and fires — into one system
Create And Make A Difference
The Army’s CMOSS is a suite of open standards aimed at improving military operations through rapid integration and upgrade of modular technology solutions.
